Choices in Curtains

Monday, June 7, 2010

We are busy getting Clyde on a schedule that will work for all of us has been quite a feat! We are learning and he is adapting...but boy would I like to get all my errands done at once instead of scattered throughout the day.

Anyway, one of my goals this summer is to get fabric to make curtains for my guest room. The room has really pretty features, but everything is kind of blending in right now. I want the curtains to really pop without taking away from the bedding. Let me know which fabric below you think looks best, or if you have other color options!

Here is the best picture I could get of the room. We will probably have to move the picture on the right so that curtains can go on either side of the window. I would like long drapes so that the bed can be "framed" in a way.

Should I go with a bold pattern?

Or, should I go with a sheer ivory to keep it light and airy? Decisions, decisions...

I love the last one to death! It's bold but still soothing and restful. And to soften and balance the boldness of the fabric, you could hang sheers across the whole window behind the drapes!

I am a big fan of the 2nd choice! I am looking at similar prints too and would love to know which one you decide on

Go bold! not that I am real good at choosing that kind of thing myself... but I like bold! =)

I like the last one too!! I'm so impressed that you are going to make the curtains!!

If your going to keep the bedding, with it being a print, then I would say go with a solid color fabric. You don't want it to be too busy. But do what you love!!! I am sure it will look great!

I can't wait to see what you come up with. I love the 3rd one, but I do love bold colors and prints.

I agree with Heather though, with the current bedding a print might be too much. Its hard to tell from the picture, but a nice solid dark chocolate brown might look good also.
