I was coveting Lori's spray painting projects the other day, so I went out and grabbed myself a can of Rustoleum's Oil Rubbed Bronze, or ORB.
This stuff turns regular, ugly objects, into beautiful ORB objects.
I have been staring at the silver knobs on our media console since the day we put it together. But, because we couldn't affix different knobs, we left them.
Here is my new friend.
This is the best picture I could find of the old (leave it to me not to take a good before picture). I mean, you can see them across the room...oh how the bright silver haunted me.

After! The best part of this after is that you can't tell that they are there...they just go. I don't notice them, and they don't stand out. I have been walking through my house trying to find my next victim ever since.
I set up this cute little area on our bar countertop this week. We throw all our bills, coupons, stamps, etc. in that red basket and I go through it once a week and purge. The little lamp just makes it so much cozier to write bills! I am thinking about bar stools for this spot. Just little ones we could push under with no backs. Let me know if you know of any good ones!

Your new "bill spot" does look cozy... maybe it will make paying bills more fun?!?!? Nah... I dont think that will EVER be fun! Ha...
Do you have a super wal*mart close by? I (SURPRISINGLY) saw some bar stools like you are talking about there a couple months ago. They were super cheap (I think like $25.00) and I thought they were such a good PB look-alike, that I had to pull one down and see how sturdy it was... and it was! I didnt need them, but they were so cheap and nice that I was tempted to buy some anyway! Ha... So, check there! :)
I am digging the bill spot and I am glad to hear your ORB project went well. I have some things coming up and love to hear about others good experiences. I bet you are like, "hmmm what else can I do?" haha
OK- so AB and I went to Target today, and while we were there, I happened to look up and see barstools that were marked down... they are the ones you want, and they had them marked down to 33.00! So you may want to check them out, too! :)
Awesome! Wait till you see what I've done with spray paint and my bedroom lamps...
Life will never be the same again.

Love the ORB! When we bought our living room tables there were shiney silver knobs and our purchase was contingent on buying new handles which have the same coloring of yours now. Got to get me some of that stuff. As for your cute bowl...I have a cute wire basket and now the basket is full and there is a pile next to it...haha....I am not as tidey as you tho
You know I love spray paint!! I was so super excited when I saw that you were going to spray paint, and it turned out amazing!! I think it's really easy too!!
We have a basket like that too. All the things that I do not want to go through at the moment end up in there, and then I too, go through it all once a week. I LOVE that little light there, it makes it 100times more cozy!! I think a barstool would be a wonderful idea. I know that my sister found some great ones at Wal mart about 2 years ago. Or if you find an old stool you could always revamp it. I found one the other day :), I have a post about that coming soon!!!
