Sunflower Garden

Thursday, July 8, 2010

My hubs planted a bunch of sunflower seeds the other month and they have finally started to bloom!

These are almost 5 feet tall now. Isn't that amazing? All coming from a tiny seed.

This was yesterday afternoon.

And these are from this morning!! Nothing is more beautiful right now.

Anyone know how to trim them back when you go to cut them and bring them inside? I can't WAIT to have them on my kitchen table.

The hubs and I are off for the weekend to get away to the beach (no tar here yet). We are very excited to have a break from the pup. I love him, but wow, I need a little break from being mommy 24/7. I'll be back Monday with pictures :)

Your sunflowers are beautiful! I planted a whole bunch, but they haven't bloomed yet. The bugs are eating them to smitherenes, though. Not sure why?! However, it has kept the bugs off of my veggies, so I guess I can't complain too much. ;) Have a great vacation!

It's so much for to plant stuff from seeds. I am attempting to grow herbs from seeds right now, and got so excited when I saw little sprouts. Your sunflowers look beautiful, and it will be fun to be able to bring them inside and enjoy them!
