Laundry Room Re-do!
Saturday, October 3, 2009
We finally got around to having cabinets installed in our laundry room. Here is the laundry room right after we moved in. I wish I had before before pictures where the linoleum was ripping up and there was lizard poop all over the floor, yes lizard poop. They had infested the house. My friend Ryan still doesn't like walking into this room. The lizards are gone, I promise!
We had a ceiling installed because before this picture there were just rafters that led to our tiny roof (we have a low-pitched roof, so no attic space). That bookcase is now used as it should be, as a bookcase in our extra bedroom.
We don't have a pantry in our kitchen (yet) so we use one of the cabinets now as a pantry, but we plan on a huge redo of the kitchen in the next year. So, there will definitely be a pantry in it!
Here is the after! Sorry for the dark background. This is looking in from my kitchen.
Here is a close up. We got these at Lowes for an incredible price. At least I think it was. We couldn't have had cabinets made for this price ($94 each). That cabinet looks crooked (the one on the right) I promise it isn't!
We need to pick a different paint color. This was the color the entire house was before we moved in and painted every room, but this one. It isn't going to be easy to get around those cabinets and the washer/dyer! Any tips?
Here is our lovely window over the w/d. I need to get a pretty fabric to hang up there and add some color.
We are so happy to have more storage...I finally don't have a lawn mower box sitting in my kitchen with my blender/kitchenaid/ice cream maker/extra large pots in it!

Looks awesome! I am jealous, we had just put in a nice laundry room in our house before we moved. In Germany, there is no such thing as a separate laundry room--many people don't even own dryers (as if!) so we now have ours stacked in the bathroom. It is convenient, but not my favorite set up of all time. Congrats on getting all these projects done!

Looks beautiful - that is a spacious, spacious room!
Love it! That will give you lots of great storage and still have plenty of room for laundry room stuff. You could keep the blinds for privacy and put up a rod with a cute print valance. The green paint you used in the living area would look great in there.
Yay!!!
