Thanksgiving Tablescaping

Monday, November 15, 2010

I am starting to "tablescape" for Thanksgiving. I will have ten people at my house and I am so excited to finally have my "grown up" party.

I picked up ten of these beauties and will use them with ivory napkins and off-white dinner place settings. I plan to make some really neat place mats that I saw in Real Simple this month. Should be a fun project that I will share later!

I found this etsy shop where she so wonderfully custom made me 5 gold tree place cards and...

5 gold leaf place cards. They came out beautifully. I couldn't have asked for anything more perfect, or easy!

I also started my centerpieces. These are very non-traditional. But, I plated these sweet red and orange flowers. They look like the picture below when blooming nicely. I plan to tie a pretty ribbon on the pots, maybe even a fun stencil and have each guest (or pair) take one home!

I feel like I am off to a good start but I still need to work on some type of place mat and/or table runner. I am open to any fun ideas from you crafty ladies!

An adult party will be so fun! Adam and I had Christmas day dinner at our house our first Christmas. I love the stories and memories that are told around a dinner table. There is just something magical about a table set with all the trimmings and some candle light. Good luck on all the plans Juliannne!

How exciting! I am jealous! We are still going to parents and grandparents houses for thanksgiving. :) Your blog is lovely, dear! I'm definitely following!

Oh so pretty! I love those cards and the gold leafing is lovely. I bet it's going to be gorgeous and your planning will definitely be appreciated by all your attendees. I am a huge fan of dressing up the rustic, so I love burlap as a runner (the more frayed the edges the better) and it's not expensive. PLUS if anyone spills on it you can throw it away and not fret over dry cleaning!

Julianne!!! Get thee to Anne Taylor Loft, J. Crew, or Express, STAT!! These are three places that I'VE found great leggings, anyway!! I know what you mean about the ones at Target - they're too thin!!

Try these - they're my current favorite!! :)
