Overwhelmed

I started to write this post and I coudln't quite find the words...in a nut shell:
Clyde was at the vet last week overnight from Thursday morning to Friday afternoon. Apparently he ate something that upset his stomach and he was unable to keep food down. At such a young age (6 months) this was very serious. They had him hooked up to IVs and fluid running through him for two days. Needless to say, we all are exhausted and ready for life to get back to normal.
I can't begin to tell you how I never thought this was how it was going to be raising a puppy. I have re-thought all of my ideas on having children and pushed them back even further from when I thought they would be. I may NEVER have babies if this is how difficult it will be. The stress just does me in.
School is back in full swing, and with Danny working so far from home I am the only one who can go home and feed/take out/play with Clyde. It is not an easy job! We have done some Doggy Day Care which I always thought was CRAZY, but I now know how much of a break it really is.
Thank you for your prayers and concerns over the last week. We are working hard to get into a routine and keep everyone healthy and happy!

Awwwwww. I hope Clyde is feeling better soon.
so sorry things are so stressful! I definitely know the feeling. Dogs are so sweet but a lot of work. I hear that you just have to push through!
I don't have any babies BUT I've heard that babies are easier than puppies. Babies stay where you put them. They don't get up and walk away. Also their poop is contained and puppy poop isn't. So don't push off kids due to puppies. It's good practice :)
Oh sweetie. Hang in there! Babies are almost easier but I can't explain that. I think it's the 9 months to prepare or something... not sure. Dogs are exhausting! Wait. So are babies... so maybe I take that whole "babies are easier" thing back. Get some rest girl!
Oh girl, hang in there. I am sorry you feel so overwhelmed. Babies are a handful but it would be rare to have the kind of issues with your baby as you are having to endure with your pup. It's just a different life style with babies, you adjust and learn how to manage your time and such. I am sorry you feel so discouraged. Praying for you.
I hope Clyde is feeling better. Puppies are difficult to take care of, but they do get better as they get older. If I ever get another dog, I think I may adopt one that is at least 1 year old because puppies do take a lot of work, but they are sooo cute!
As for children, like my mom says, the difference between children and pets is that children grow up and can eventually take care of themselves. You will always have to take care of pets. Have faith though, I think you will make a great mom!
